Actuators for Physical AI
Silica makes the first affordable actuators that sense forces directly, so that all robots can feel the world around them.
Silica builds force-sensing actuators for robots. Where conventional joints estimate force indirectly from motor current, Silica measures torque directly at the output, giving every joint real contact data. The hardware targets robotics developers working in manufacturing, lab automation, and robot training who currently write software workarounds to compensate for bodies that cannot feel.
Robotics developers and manufacturers buy directly through the Silica website; customers pre-order specific joint configurations and are confirmed by email, making it a self-serve hardware purchase flow.
Per-unit hardware sales, with pre-orders open ahead of a January 2027 production start.
