Summary
Ridejoy built a long-distance carpooling marketplace that let drivers list spare seats on road trips and let passengers find and book those rides. It replaced the need to drive alone or buy intercity bus and train tickets for point-to-point trips. The service shut down in early 2013. Note: the current ridejoy.com hosts an unrelated horse-travel platform and does not represent the Y Combinator company.

Ridejoy is a community-driven marketplace for sharing rides. Ridejoy making it easy to share rides with friendly people. If you're going on a trip, you can list extra seat space in your car, and if you need to get somewhere, you can find a ride, using their service.
