One Firm, Several Vehicles, Clear Investor Communities

Manage funds and entity investment portfolios with clear vehicle scope, then connect consenting members through investor communities.

A firm can have a fund, an SPV, and an investment portfolio built before its first fund. Each belongs in the same workspace, with its own holdings and access rules. An investor's community profile is a separate decision from the financial information they can see.

Quick Answer

GPAgent's vehicle model supports funds, SPVs, and entity portfolios. Managers work in the selected vehicle, while investors see the vehicles they are authorized to access. Community profiles let consenting members share their expertise within GP-enabled fund communities or a broader firm community.

What belongs to a vehicle?

An investment belongs to a specific vehicle. If two vehicles invest in the same company, their positions stay separate. Switching the portfolio view does not move an investment or change where background workflows record new commitments.

An entity portfolio does not need a fictional fund size or an LP base. It needs a clear name, the correct holdings, and accurate investment context.

From Portfolio, choose Add investment, confirm the vehicle, and record the company, amount, date, and instrument. The new position starts private to the team. Share it from the investment detail page when it is ready for that vehicle's portal audience. A position in one vehicle stays separate from the same company's position in another.

Who can see each fund?

Managers control vehicle access. An invested relationship and additional reporting access are distinct: granting someone permission to read reporting does not claim they invested. Limited community access does not include LP reporting documents or financial fields.

How does the directory work?

The GP enables the relevant community audiences. Members choose where to publish their profiles and can hide them later. A person can share expertise with one fund community without joining the broader firm directory.

If a community pauses, a member's saved choice remains visible in their profile settings. They can keep it for when sharing resumes or remove it. The profile explains whether it is private, published, paused, or hidden by the fund team. Removing a moderation restriction never publishes a member's private draft.

Members can provide professional or contact links. An introduction email draft can also go to the fund team. Opening a draft does not mean an introduction was delivered. Matching, messaging, and tracked connection outcomes are separate future work.

FAQ

Does joining the broader community unlock another fund's reporting?

No. Community participation and vehicle reporting access are separate permissions.

Can an invited advisor join without being an LP?

Yes. The GP can invite non-LP community members, and those members choose whether to publish a profile to their eligible audiences.

Does an entity portfolio need to become a fund?

No. It remains an entity investment portfolio within the firm's workspace.
