Archgen Labs is a YC Fall 2026 (F26) company. Based in San Francisco, CA, USA. Team of 2.
About Archgen Labs
Summary
Archgen Labs builds AI-powered electronic design automation tools for 3D semiconductor physical design. Its core product, Newton, is an autonomous agent that handles placement, routing, design-rule fixes, and timing closure, replacing the iterative manual triage that chip engineers do today. A companion thermal analysis tool, LayerTherm, predicts on-chip temperatures orders of magnitude faster than conventional simulation, letting teams catch hotspots and compare more design options earlier in the flow.
Go-to-market
Archgen Labs targets semiconductor engineering teams working on advanced 3D chip development, engaging them through direct technical collaboration, as shown by its joint work with GlobalFoundries.

AI-powered EDA tools for faster, cooler 3D chips
Archgen Labs builds AI-powered chip design tools for the next generation of 3D semiconductors. Stacking compute vertically shortens connections and reduces the energy and delay of moving data. But it also makes heat harder to remove. Our tools help engineers optimize placement, timing, and temperature together so they can build faster, more power-efficient 3D chips. Our GPU-accelerated placement engine ranked first in the Hudson River Trading macro-placement challenge. LayerTherm, our thermal analysis tool, predicts chip temperatures roughly 5,000× faster than conventional simulation in our benchmarks, helping engineers explore more designs and identify hotspots earlier. Newton, our AI chip design engineer, automates work across placement, routing, design-rule fixes, and timing closure. We’re working with GlobalFoundries on 3D chip development, targeting our first tapeout in 2027.

Score every batch against your own thesis
GPAgent's sourcing agent reads every company in a batch, scores each one against your fund's thesis in a private workspace, and lines up the founders worth meeting before Demo Day. You decide who to contact. Your scores, notes, and pipeline never appear on these pages.
